    For the past two decades, the 44-year-old has been working as a self-employed carpet fitter for stores around the UK and Ireland – including Right Price Carpets and Beds, in Victoria Road, Fenton.

    Now, after learning that the former owner was looking to close the business unless he could find a seller, Alan has taken over the company.

    He has already re-vamped the showroom at the store as part of plans to refurbish the building, which will include the installation of new signage.

    The store – which has now been re-named Masons Right Price Carpets and Beds – offers a large range of carpets, laminate, beds and underlays as well as fitting and measuring services and free delivery.

    At the moment it serves customers across Staffordshire, Cheshire and the Staffordshire Moorlands, but Alan hopes to expand the company’s reach in future.
